MESSMER PACKER S008
|
RAAA Reg. #: 1109534
Packer is an exciting sire in our line
up with extremely well balanced numbers. He is a high volume bull with lots of muscling that he passes on to
his calves. The bulls on test are
extremely thick with good depth and a nice broad top and have very correct
feet and legs. They definitely
catch your attention as you walk in the feedlot. Look for Packer sons to follow in
their sire’s footsteps, producing above average REA. We are calving out our second
set of Packer daughters and they have attractive udders and are in excellent
flesh.

GMRA LARAMIE 5110
|
RAAA Reg. #: 1039249
Laramie was
our high selling bull in our 2006 sale, selling to ABS. His calves are
attracting lots of attention. The birth weights are moderate and the
calves' growth has been explosive. In fact, the Laramie sons on test
had the 2nd highest average weaning ratio. They are very long and visiting
customers always pick them out because of their extra length. They also show thick muscling with
excellent fleshing ability. A quick glance at his pedigree will show
the tremendous Lakota cow family, which is one of the foundations of the
Green Mountain Red Angus herd.

HXC CONQUEST 4405P
|
RAAA Reg. #: 975924
Conquest was our top AI sire for heifers
for the last two years and we have had great results. His calves are moderate birth and both
the 2010 and 2011 calf crops were easy calving. In fact, Conquest had the lowest
average birth weight of any sire we used this year. Conquest has an incredible birth to
growth spread, and compliments that with outstanding carcass numbers. Look for his progeny to be moderate
framed with excellent eye appeal. We are calving out our first Conquest daughters and they are making
excellent mothers. The bulls on test are broad topped and deep with tons of
muscle and had the best marbling scores of any sire group, with a 111
average.

LJC MISSION STATEMENT P27
|
RAAA Reg. #: 960383
Mission Statement is truly a “no holes”
sire. It’s not every day you can
find a sire that is at the breed average for birth weight, yet gives you the
power of a weaning EPD in the top 17% and a yearling EPD in the top 4%. In fact, his sons on test turned in
the #2 average yearling ratio at 106. This high growth bull also provides you with outstanding carcass
potential. His REA EPD is in the
top 1% of the breed and his sons in this offering had the #2 average REA
ratio. These calves offer
excellent eye appeal and conformation. The daughters in production are doing an excellent job, with an
average MPPA of 102.3.

FRITZ JUSTICE 8013
|
RAAA Reg. #: 1255322
Here is a
sire who’s progeny is producing some of the most
consistently impressive performance we have seen. We purchased Justice with Accelerated
Genetics in the spring of 2009, but this is the first year we have really had
a chance to see what his calves can do. In a nutshell, we are impressed! Of the sire groups of the bulls on test his progeny are tied for the 3rd lowest average birth weight, yet turned in the highest weaning and yearling
ratios. The 9 sons in the sale
posted an average weanling ratio of 117 and an average yearling ratio of
111.2. They also have the highest
average REA ratio of 108 and were #3 for marbling at 102.

GMRA CITADEL 6109
|
RAAA Reg. #: 1111630
Citadel was
ABS Global’s pick of our 2007 bull crop here at Green Mountain. A large birth to yearling spread
combined with the power of Citadel’s dam made him a very attractive package. Citadel has problem free calving and a
nice, low average birth weight. He turns that moderate birth weight into impressive weaning and
yearling numbers. We are very
excited about his daughters in production. They are good, solid producers,
posting MPPAs of 100 or higher.

VGW NORTHERN CANYON 5109
|
RAAA Reg. #: 1081768
We purchased
Northern Canyon as one of the top sellers at Westphal’s 2007 sale. His pedigree showcased sires that were
new to our breeding program and provided an excellent source of new genetics. He promotes calving ease while keeping
outstanding growth and performance in his calves. It’s rare to find a bull that is
nearly 70% proven with a birth EPD is in the top 37%, weaning in the top 14%,
and yearling in the top 10%. Just
an incredible birth to growth spread that he passes on to his progeny. His calves are extremely thick with
great capacity, excellent muscling and an outstanding rear quarter.

GMRA EBV 266
|
RAAA Reg. #: 372528
GMRA EBV 266
takes us back to some of our old school genetics. Way back in 1993 he was the high
selling bull at Midland Bull Test, selling to Westphal Red Angus. Over the years we have
had numerous daughters in production that were absolutely some of the best
females we have ever raised and were the main reason we decided to bring him
out of retirement. In fact, the
daughters we currently have in production have the highest average MPPA,
102.4, of any sire group used this year. 266 daughters have outstanding udders and teats, breed back well, and
showcase all of the eye appeal, muscling and depth of 266 himself, and we
look forward to seeing some of his daughters back in the herd. The last straws of semen we had were
used in 2010, so the last progeny you will see are offered in our 2012 sale.

LAUBACH LOMBARDI 9014
|
RAAA Reg. #: 1310573
Lombardi was
our pick of the 2009 bull calf crop at Laubach Red Angus. We were excited to find a Packer son
from another breeder that we felt showcased all the strengths we were seeing
in our own Packer calves. He went
into service here in the spring of 2010 as a cleanup sire. The Lombardi son offered here has
outstanding growth and excellent eye appeal. Look to see more of this young sire in
the future.
