The Ludvigson Family held their Second Edition Herdbuilder Bull and Female Sale on April 12 th at the farm in Cushing, Iowa. This event offered 98 stout yearling bulls and 5 fall bred females. The standard for the day were people looking for moderate, sound, functional and productive herdsires for seedstock and commercial operations alike.
The high selling bull was Lot 5, LSF Tank 7005T an Enterprise son out of a Gold Robber x Julian B571 bred dam which sold for $17,000 to Chile Beef, Santiago, Chile. The next high selling bull was Lot 23, LSF Venture 7062T another son of Enterprise out of a Ribeye daughter from the well known Della/Crystal cow family that sold to Select Sires in Plains City, Ohio for $16,500. Lot 17, LSF JBOB Land Rover 7352T sired by Lancer F442T and out of an impressive New Chapter daughter sold for $10,500 to the Rimrock Ranch and the Double Eagle Ranch in Sisters, Oregon. Mont-Vue Farm along with Shady Bottom Red Angus from Tennessee selected Lot 6, LSF Merger 7013T, an Enterprise sired bull out of a Lancer x King Rob female for $7,500. Following closely behind was Lot 51, LSF RR Esquire 7800T yet another Enterprise son out of a New Chapter daughter for $7,300.
Fowler-Staggs Red Angus from Unionville, Missouri, long time customers selected Lot 2, LSF Blockbuster 7119T, a Canyon Classic son out of a full sister to Combination for $5,750. Lot 1, LSF Classic Ruler 7241T a full brother to Lot 2 sold for $5,750 to Bobby Daggs from Burleson, Texas. Leonard Cattle Company, Holstein, Iowa paid $5,500 for Lot 9, LSF Bodybuilder a Lancer F442T son and a maternal brother to Combination. Lot 3 LSF MEW Moneymaker 7600T sired by Icon and out of a Cherokee Canyon x Robinhood dam sold for $5,000 to Randy Meyer, Brunswick, Missouri. Also at $5,000 Lot 4, LSF MEW Big Papi 7603T sold to Kirby and Robyn Lane's Neo-Sho Farm in Southwest City, Missouri.
Cattle sold into 16 states and volume buyers were Delong Ranches in Winnemucca, Nevada, Pine Forest Land and Stock Company in Winnemucca, Nevada and the Burchfield Ranch in Cody, Nebraska. |
